Don’t Count on It

Context: I surrendered to the gospel ministry as a teenager. Then, I attended college (Oklahoma Baptist University) to study and train for it. I never made it to seminary, though I never stopped trying to study on that level on my own. I spent hundreds of dollars on books, but eventually kept only a few. The journey out of bondage to Western evangelical Christian religion was long and painful, but it began with something I heard back in college. “The Bible is an eastern book; Jesus was an eastern man. Christianity is an eastern religion.” It took awhile for that to sink in.

During that long lag time from the late 1970s in college to my final departure in 2005, I did my best to volunteer in churches on whatever basis they would tolerate me. A couple of times I was granted an official internship. Several other times I was hired as Music Director simply because no one else would do it, and I just barely could. So I was frequently working as church staff and often hanging out with the pastors in daily work and conferences and just anywhere I could. I was trying to absorb the culture and hoping someone would notice my spirit and talents and sponsor me for something more permanent. While that never happened, I did learn a lot about the culture.

It included endless whining about how the mass of church membership just barely showed up. Never more than something like 20% actually got involved enough to make things happen (by their estimates). Today there is an endless supply of books and studies and programs on how to provoke your membership to a greater degree of spirituality. As you know from reading much of anything I’ve written, it can’t happen because they confuse “spirituality” with “better thinking and acting.”

Now, I will tell you that I did learn how to grow an organization so that more people showed up and put their money in the offering plates. And I was pretty good at that part, but I always felt that I failed because the majority of the people were unchanged. They liked how I could talk and stir up their enthusiasm, but they never did much. They had too many different reasons why they just couldn’t. Eventually, I got used to it.

It was good training in one sense. That kind of disappointment as “normal” made me capable of tolerating the lack of response on these two blogs.

Brothers and Sisters, what we do here makes us total aliens to the mainstream. It’s not that we can’t find mainstream folks who can love us and deal with us; the church leadership wouldn’t let someone like me stay around very long. The honest truth is that what I teach undermines their programs, and I refuse to attend a church where I can’t teach. I will not be silent, so that means they have to marginalize me at best. I’m not going to sit there and sing and enjoy the music and chat with friends and knuckle under bad teaching.

I’ve known for at least a decade that my calling was to prepare, to make myself an arrow in the quiver. I knew that a time would come when chaos would come and then my gifts from God would be activated. The small things I’ve accomplished here were training, sharpening, proving that these things work. A few of you have responded and found this stuff useful. God bless you, because that blesses me. It keeps me on the path, but sooner or later that path will meet chaos. Indeed, my prophetic gift tells me we are all headed for the chaos of tribulation. That’s what I’ve been prepared for; that’s what it will take to break open the somnolence of souls chained to all that bad teaching. It will be my faith and shalom in the midst of chaos that will call to those who suddenly realize they need something they don’t already have.

Now, God can do anything He likes. This could turn into a huge movement of sorts that reaches millions. Let’s pray to that end, but let us also hear with our convictions what God tells us He wants us to believe. Some of you are already with me, standing in faith until He pulls us out of the quiver and launches us into the battle. Some others of you will blossom and join that work. And some of you will tell me about it and we will rejoice together in the miracles. Still, my heart right now says we shouldn’t expect much in terms of numbers. We aren’t doing a religion that is designed to draw crowds and our socio-cultural context doesn’t encourage genuine heart-led conviction.

So while some mainstream Christian leaders know how to game human behavior to attract large audiences, we aren’t in that game. What we do is inherently “inefficient” in those terms. Those pastors struggle to get their huge numbers to really get involved in religion; we will struggle to avoid attracting that kind of audience. We’ll give freely to all who ask, but we know there won’t be that many takers once they understand what it involves. We aren’t building a system that automates religion. What we do is a lot of work right from the start. That’s the only way it will work at all.

Christian Mysticism will never be a mass movement, unless it becomes fake.

Prophetic Economics 06

We are the shepherd society. We operate on biblical feudal justice.

You are your brother’s keeper, but be aware of who your brother is and in what sense. In fundamental moral terms, you cannot call a brother someone who rejects the bonds of family. Your family is anyone who shares a heart-led orientation; your closest family are those who share your moral dominion. Stop accepting responsibility for people who won’t share your covering.

The world is not your family. You can be kind to anyone and give whatever God has placed in your hands for strangers in need. Do not give strangers your seed corn. It’s up to you to decide what those symbolic images cover in real terms, but don’t let anyone — especially people who aren’t heart-led — try to saddle you with guilt and false responsibility for people who don’t share your faith. If you don’t differentiate, you insult God.

People who refuse the conviction-led moral path to justice will reap the whirlwind. There is nothing you can do for them. You cannot force God to bless them, and you cannot force them to stand under His covering. Discern and distinguish; keep some distance from those on the road to hell. Call out to them when it’s appropriate, but don’t join them.

The globalists are already receiving God’s wrath. Their situation will get worse until their agenda is dead. God alone knows what will happen to the leftists they have been using as foot soldiers all these years. However, we should expect their false religion to reach a fever pitch before it comes crashing down. Don’t take any crap from them, even as you show the shepherd’s empathy for their sorrows. The wounds are self-inflicted.

The imperialists will fall sometime later. US military power is hollow from within as profit-taking has produced a mass of worthless weapons; training has been blunted by political correctness. It was never that good in the first place — I can assure you, as I was there twice. It worked well enough with people of decent morals and good sense, but that all belonged to a previous era. Military training philosophy is obsolete and no one that matters has noticed. God will allow our military to fail more and more in coming days.

Your greatest blessing is in decentralizing and reducing dependencies on anything that isn’t God or from God. He has promised to prosper us in the midst of chaos if we will just obey Him from the heart. Your starting point is to be utterly certain where He wants you to serve. A major element in His mission for us includes infiltration, so don’t hesitate to get involved in something you know will eventually fail. He calls us to places where we can glorify Him, where we can find His favor. It’s all about your personal victory over your own fallen nature, not how you succeed as humans measure such things.

In every situation, live the glory of God.

Prophetic Economics 05

The ultimate failure of the left was the insistence that everything about humans is mere conditioning; it’s all cultural artifact. So the solution to every moral evil is a matter of hammering on the culture until it changes. In other words, they start by denying the Fall. Their entire foundation denies God and substitutes a deity of their own imagining. Their moral perspective is a blasphemous delusion, and it cannot possibly work for very long. When you ignore reality, things will stretch only just so far before it all snaps back into place. That image of “snapping back into place” is one edge of the sword of God’s wrath on sin.

The only advantage on the right is that their worldview does embrace the Fall. Indeed, the right is shot through with varying degrees of belief that being self-centered is perfectly normal. Their major flaw is in rejecting the demands of redemption. In particular, they push such demands off into “personal religion” and allow precious little application of that religion to speak to their fundamental assumptions. People are generally bad, so get used to it and let’s make ourselves materially comfortable.

And this naturally means exploiting human moral weakness for profit. Not just taking advantage of it, but encouraging it. There is no such thing as “vice” except as a term of relative personal discomfort with natural human behavior. To the degree that this approach is somewhat closer to reality, it is more durable and effective. There is a Holy Cynicism, but this lesser cynicism is close enough to work well when few are aware of the difference. This is what calls for the other edge of God’s sword of wrath, where He gets more directly and assertively involved in punishing sin.

Meanwhile, the right-wing political spectrum is less easily united and controlled. Here in the US, it has coalesced into the mainstream who are easily steered, and there remains a very large group who think for themselves, giving rise to a wide variety of philosophical approaches that share the common theme of liberty, along with a presumption of nationalism, in which one’s idea of “nation” may vary from another’s. Given the massive noisy onslaught from the left, the differences among the nationalists isn’t enough to cause trouble. They have the fellowship of shared persecution.

The right-wing was quicker to adopt the Internet, and are more likely to get involved in the underlying protocols. Not so much to the degree of uber-geeks, but they have a good working knowledge of it. It’s a part of the DIY ethic burned into nationalism versus the leftist habit of hiring experts and giving them orders without dirtying their own hands. The political right has always been more technology savvy because it’s part of their willingness to get their hands dirty. Because of this the right has been more productive and profitable in ways that survive economic tough times. Thus, not is right-wing political activity generally cheaper, but typically pays its own way.

But same as the left, the political leadership of the right isn’t really nationalist — it’s imperialist. The difference is not always that obvious since there is a lot overlap in practice. Politicians are typically some of both, and most of them are willing to take the money because there is no real pressure to squelch that self-indulgence. To all appearances, globalists outnumber the imperialists, but the imperialists get more done with their constituency. Meanwhile, the actual projects of both globalists and imperialists are often shared, but without the imperialists and right-wing productivity, the left would have been broke long ago. If the left were to ever succeed at their whole agenda, we would all starve. Their globalist leadership seems intent on that very thing, hoping they can somehow make us like being slaves. In this, they are allies to the imperialists.

The flaw in this plan was the Internet. There have always been nationalists who resented the secrecy and dominance of the imperialist leadership on the social right, but their rascally individualism prevented effective cooperation amongst themselves. That is, it was a hindrance until the Internet made it so very easy for them to find more common cause. There has been a subtle cultural shift; the prickly individualism of meat-space nationalism has given way to a more cooperative awareness that they were all in this together. They learned to make common cause for as the path to their individual liberties. It was not entirely conscious, which is why it caught everyone off guard when someone who spoke their language got elected as POTUS.

Prophetic Economics 04

The Internet connects humans across the world like nothing before. At the same time, it inserts itself as an alternate reality between everyone. People haven’t changed and the communication does enable us to recognize each other as real people, but it doesn’t require us to do so. Instead, it makes it all too easy to dehumanize each other for those so inclined. But it does rip away the past dehumanizing that allowed tyrants to ignore our unique differences. The Internet is a place where everyone is ostensibly equal in power, and only those who truly absorb it’s nature can gain any advantage.

But that advantage is an extra layer, as it were. Most Internet users simply fail to notice that extra layer because it does not demand their attention. The extra layer is that collection of protocols and conventions that make the system work rather transparently. Having a good acquaintance with the underlying system is the path to power on the Internet. It reduces Social Science to a much narrower field of study for those intent on taking advantage of the situation. The options for human interaction are divided between what actually comes across the Net on the one hand, and what the average users infer — accurately or not — on the other hand. Most people bring their meat space habits into the virtual world and fill in the blanks with their imaginations. Those who push that aside and study what actually comes through the wires aren’t distracted by such things.

While the Internet forces everyone to treat each other ostensibly as equals in some ways, so that unique individual demands are appropriate, the protocols also take away any hope of privacy. Most people by instinct tend to avoid taking advantage of the lack of privacy, but there’s almost nothing at all preventing a virtual Peeping Tom from seeing everything you send across the wires. The privacy instinct does not translate well into the habit of encryption. Encryption that works is cumbersome; encryption that is automatic seldom does much good. The arms race between encryption and code-cracking offers precious little advantage to those who don’t put serious effort into hiding. In very practical terms, it’s almost not worth the effort unless you actively keep abreast of the technology. Most people don’t and won’t. The majority of users leave themselves exposed, relying on social protocols from meat space.

This plays into the hands of marketers who have embraced the technology of networking. If the Internet is a vast population of unique individuals, then advertising means tracking as many of them as possible and turning them into individual algorithms to exploit. While it is entirely dehumanizing, it also happens to work well enough that advertising technology companies are forging ahead with their own technology advances.

On the one hand, the mainstream of government has been the last part of human society to embrace all of this shift into the networked world. On the other hand, certain select agencies within governments have pretty much kept pace and gained advantages thereby. Keep in mind that large government bureaucracies are collections of competing agencies, and each is always seeking its own survival advantage. Bureaucracy dehumanizes both the insiders and their victims. The Internet was created by a government bureaucracy, and those agencies that embraced the technology have gained a long term advantage, having become almost their own governments within a broader bureaucracy.

But the advantage is slipping because more and more of the rest of the government has become aware, if for no other reason than that major figures themselves have experience with using the technology commercially. They show up first in appointed positions, whereas elected officials are the last bastion of resistance to technology. Still, the bridge is there and government figures are crossing it. There is a further bridging as government agencies tend to use contracted corporations to supplement their networking activities, so that the barrier between public government and private commerce is almost gone. While the agencies born to the Internet are striving to keep their advantages, the rest of government is catching up quickly on one major area: merging marketing technology into political manipulation.

This is not being implemented cleanly and firmly, so the result is yet another horrible boondoggle, which is nothing new with bureaucratic government. Part of the problem is that those with the most hard driving partisan agenda rests with the elected officials who seldom have any real clue how it all works. We haven’t seen too many ambitious politicians who were also tech savvy. For now, those who are most tech savvy have avoided the spotlight, which means avoiding the kind of exposure that comes with getting elected. That is likely to change when the current Old Guard dies off.

The virtual certainty of major upheaval will accelerate the process, though. What we see coming toward us is nothing less than the end of one civilization as another rises. This change won’t offer a clear line of departure, and it’s already in progress. However, the radical degree of change will come in relatively short time simply because the kind of mass human perceptual shift that causes such a thing is now facilitated by global instantaneous communications. That has never existed until the past few years; it’s a totally new factor in human existence on the planet.

For once, the end of a civilization will not be the direct result of war. Instead, it will spawn conflicts all over the world, but they will be more a symptom than a cause of this civilizational shift. This is part of why the economy will not simply halt and require starting from scratch. The global economic exchange of goods and services has been under way for quite some time, despite national borders, and has been routing around the global credit system already.

The primary failure of the globalist agenda is that it grew out of older technology and refused to adapt to the new. The Internet is global and borderless, but globalism as a political agenda blindly chugs along on its dead end track that assumes the necessity of physical force to unite humanity under an oppressive smother-mother government. All that love, peace and flowers is a facade. And globalism has maintained a stranglehold on leftist politics and the Democratic Party in the US. This is why we should look for that whole Progressive thing to break down before our eyes. Maybe not right away, and it’s just possible someone or some small group can rescue it in the final hours, but this seems increasingly improbable. The wound is fatal.

What’s left is some select elements of the Progressive identity that have already been adopted by the first networked generation. The classical “left” is done.

Prophetic Economics 03

We can already see the bleeding of profits from major entertainment and broadcast corporations. Part of that is simply the turnover in technology, and how the new is embraced by the newer generations of consumers. Print is nearly dead, TV is dying (cable in particular), and Hollywood is barely hanging on. They aren’t going away, but are simply not that profitable any more. Meanwhile, the technology to provide entertainment on-demand to individuals is all the rage. Further, we see that decentralized production of the content is taking a strong hold, and the old centralized dinosaurs are stumbling. We are already in the age of the Indie entertainer.

You would naturally expect the political left to seek their previous advantage by infiltrating this new Internet driven entertainment. To some degree it has worked, most notably in the larger technology companies. However, it’s not hard to see that, in America at least, advertising revenues in that sector of the economy are declining because they are too much a part of the old broadcast technology. Have you noticed that Facebook has already taken membership losses in the US? So far, a few giants have proven nimble in finding ways to stay relevant and profitable in the market. However, many are at risk and a few are already gone and forgotten.

On the one hand, it seems that there is no way to assert the left-leaning message without alienating users. It’s way too easy for some disgruntled executive or entrepreneur to fire up a competing service that simply doesn’t respond to leftist pressure. This siphons off a major portion of the most active users from the older, bigger services. While this may make the remaining community of left-leaning users happy, how can the political leadership keep up the leftward pressure on the rest of society if their targets move off the services they control?

This is something that politicians still don’t get: The Internet is not like meat space. Even Biblical Law is not the same for the Internet. Man remains a fallen creature, but virtual space has its own different reality, and the basic assumptions behind Biblical Law forcefully manifest themselves because Western social mythology fails on the Net. It is not possible to overwhelm the public discussion on the Net as with public broadcast in meat space. And people on the Net manifest their tribal and nationalist wiring more forcefully than ever.

So not only is the political left running out of financial support, but their whole game of influence is undermined by the way social discourse now takes place in virtual space. But marketing is where it showed up first, and that has radically changed. The Internet thrives on offering a million minor tweaks in the product simply because it is now possible. Consumers have always wanted it, but could never so much as request it in a mass-produced world. The Internet gives everyone an equal voice in stating their desires. It showed up first in entertainment content, making Indie artists possible — writing (including news and commentary), film and visual arts, as well as music and gaming. Any homeless waif who gets his hands on a decent used laptop can find the software and work out how to offer fairly advanced content for an untapped niche market. Technology has also increasingly democratized and commoditized production in ways that make catering to every imaginable taste in physical objects possible. That business of 3D printing is just getting started. (I’ve been trying to do that with religion, as well.)

This is a case where technology, and then economics, leads the cultural shift. We have just begun seeing how this will affect politics. The tolerance for business-as-usual is long gone. Give the Networked Generation a little more time and they will come up with their own radically new ways of doing government. Despite the many desperate efforts to tap into social media for the old political stuff, the vast majority of those now having grown up on the Internet are scarcely paying attention any more. The new political rally is the come-n-go affair on forums and chat services. I am convinced that we are on the verge of explosive changes in how this plays out in meat space.

Every part of the old order is on the chopping block.

Prophetic Economics 02

The impending failure of the credit system will hit without warning. That is, the folks who are in control of this are doing their best to protect their own assets. They won’t shed a tear for you and I. What complicates matters is that there is a good bit of competition among plutocrats; no one party controls the whole thing. But a significant portion of them are forced to work together on something like this or they all go down together. It’s possible a maverick will attempt to beat the system, but it strikes me as unlikely. The system has too many ways to track these things.

Instead, about the only way this can be deflected in any measure at all is if someone leaks it before the system moves to seize assets and close the trade window. I know that this sounds like a “bank holiday” when the banks close to prevent anyone taking out their money while the banks strip it all away and declare themselves insolvent. From where we sit, it will be about the same kind of thing, since what happens up there in the higher levels could well result in consumer banks — the ones most of us use — shutting down, as well. It will be a surprise and I doubt any human can estimate reliably the moment when the plutocrat bankers and financiers will feel like it’s time. It’s possible outside events could precipitate a major disruption in their system and force their hands.

There’s nothing any of us can do except embrace it when it comes instead of panicking. Countless “little people” will get hurt. If you can see it coming, you have time to prepare. For those of us focused on clinging to Biblical Law, things will be about as good as it gets. But there are some issues that won’t be obvious — not so much for us as for the world around us.

Has it ever occurred to you that a certain segment of the American market is largely unproductive in the first place? Granted, when people are in a good mood about their personal wealth, they are more willing to spend money on non-essentials, but make them nervous and they start squeezing that wallet. One of the most vulnerable markets is entertainment. That sweeps in a lot of territory in the US economy: movies, TV, music, sports, and tourism are commonly accepted categories. Something I’ll mention in passing is that most churches operate like entertainment with a charity function.

What kind of socio-political orientation dominates entertainment? Yep, it’s the left. The reasons are complex, and you shouldn’t try to dismiss it with simplistic slogans. But part of the reason is that those who use the left as their political base have been able to capture the entertainment industry to a great degree. Notice what I’m saying here: The folks who run the politically left organizations are not actually leftists most of the time. (It’s the same on the right.) But part of the reason they have pushed their way into the entertainment field is that they are generally outnumbered on the ground. By controlling the noise coming from TV, radio, newspapers, etc., they are able to steer political money their way.

Keep in mind that most people are conditioned to lean left on a collection of issues even when they have right-wing instincts. This is the effect of controlling the social debate via entertainment; there is no right-wing TV, for example (Fox is not what it seems). Certain answers are excluded so that the arguments are limited to a narrow range of center-left to moderate-socialist. And what is acceptable within that range drifts slowly as time goes on. This does have a distinct affect on the economy. It creates a powerful leftist drag on what folks perceive is socially acceptable in market choices and pricing. It’s pervasive and crops up all over the place.

In particular, it favors centralization, and justifies certain monopolies regardless of actual economic efficiency. That’s because a primary element in that leftward drag is to make centralized controls seem good, right and normal. It makes us desire and expect federal controls over whether something should be allowed on the market, and what constitutes acceptable quality. All a prospective monopolist needs is to purchase the political favor of certain “left” politicians and the public message will be tweaked so that consumers build up a preference for whatever the monopolist is selling. Whole industries exist today for that very reason. Should competitors arise, they’ll either have to raise the ante (buy their own access) or be driven out of the market by various means, including quite frankly violence in some cases.

When the central credit systems starts to stumble, this leftist control of public awareness will collapse. Their whole operation rests on centralized credit and market controls. Whole sections of the current consumer marketplace depends entirely on the availability of large credit operations. Centralizing is pervasive; it’s the norm. And when those big players collapse and close up their businesses, a great deal of money that supports the political left goes away at the same time. That thin veneer of leftist social drag will blow away, and people are going to start operating more like conservatives, never mind what they say. That’s because, here in the US at least, the vast majority of the people are instinctively right-wing. It doesn’t matter what they believe their political persuasion is; when money gets tight, everyone acts like a conservative. Suddenly, entertainment won’t be very important to very many people.

So what kind of political policy is actually behind the socio-political left on the streets? It’s globalism. At it’s core, this is the “we are all one human family” thing that justifies a one-world government. That’s directly contrary to Biblical Law. Never mind all the crazy End Times prophetic nonsense popular with the American Christian Right, globalism is flatly contrary to the reality. In particular, it is contrary to our wiring as humans. It always fails on its own because it never works. That’s the warning inherent in the story about the Tower of Babel; God has wired us to disperse and live in tribal differentiation.

Further, when an economy starts getting sick, globalism is the first thing to die. It’s a very expensive luxury. God is crushing the American political left, first by cutting off the funding for globalists. As the global credit system starts getting more shaky, the globalists are going to suffer first. Keep your eye on that.

God’s Warning to Trump

The standard prophetic caveat: You need not take me seriously if this strikes you as objectionable. However, I regard this as a prophetic word from God and I cannot be silent.

In the end, we are all mere vessels. When our human purpose is accomplished, we will be shattered and return to clay. Some of us will during our lives hold treasures; others are chamber pots. A few will hold the fire or God’s wrath.

God’s wrath will fall on America because of sin. However, there are particular sinful problems that are worse than others, and these problems will be hit hardest. The people associated with those problems will get an extra heavy dose of wrath.

Trump is God’s vessel of fire and destruction. He does have some options: He can do it very well or he can do it poorly. Right now, he’s doing it poorly. His mission from God is a dirty business, much as Nebuchadnezzar and Pharaoh, but both of those men were much more faithful and focused. Whatever rewards God had for those ancient men, they received richly. Trump looks to lose his.

For whatever reason, Trump is not careful about his staff. He’s got some people very good at political warfare, but too many of them are not loyal to him or his agenda. Then again, it appears Trump is not too well focused on his mission in the first place. That mission will happen, but sometimes in spite of his bumbling. And instead of a clean and clear message that shatters his enemies, it will drag on and on with many questions that go unanswered.

This is going to raise the pain level on everyone. Whatever little bit of justice Trump might have given America, he lets is slip through his fingers. He was pushed into office by God on the power of frustration in the electorate. He will frustrate them further, and they will be forced to take matters into their own hands. This will make it far messier and more painful than is necessary. But it will come to that because Trump has not kept his hand to the plow.

If Trump had been more careful and pulled in a much tighter team, and pushed more forcefully the vengeance and dirty politics that are required, he would still be the hero who won by an electoral landslide. There may still be some time, but it seems unlikely because the window of opportunity has almost closed. This is why there will be right-wing backlash at the ground level. Trump will fail the right-wing masses. You should understand that God’s instrument of wrath depends on the raw anger of the right-wing, and this determines the flavor of that wrath.

So God is going to raise up smaller figures who will do this dirty work and make His wrath happen. The ones who do it best will be those who understand political OpSec (operational security), people who know how to work with a smaller team more personally loyal to them. So if someone has a mind to do something about it, this is the time to begin forming your team and committing resources.

The wise ones will recognize this for what it is and will stand close to the work of avenging angels. But this is the wrath of God and plenty of them will have dirty hands. The difference is not properly understood by American moral sensibilities, but it requires the moral truth revealed in the Ancient Hebrew culture as to what is right and wrong. Such is the culture God designed for His revelation. This is the culture we seek to understand, dear readers.

If you are going to watch this mess unfold, then the least you can do is see it through God’s eyes.

Some Prophetic Insight

See the bigger picture.

Consider Romans 9:14-24 and Jeremiah 18. God is the Potter; His plans and motives are inscrutable to us. But His moral character is fully revealed. If we see that a country is not obeying the Covenant of Noah, then we know it is doomed. We can analyze that country in detail and see why it is doomed, and can usually discern how the doom will come. That is, we know that God typically allows nations enough rope to hang themselves; their doom will be consistent with their sin.

From our perspective, it doesn’t matter much how a particular country came into being. God grants them all a certain space for repentance. At what point has the US ever turned to God? At what point did America repent according to Biblical Law and strive to obey? I’ve seen no evidence of it, either.

So the Lord has called me to prophecy to America of her sins and to warn of the coming doom. I will contend that what I see is not unique to me; whatever wisdom and vision I have is hardly special. All of it could and should be obvious to anyone who seeks a genuine heart of faith and conviction. Granted, an awful lot of believers are blinded by a Western bias about faith and revelation, but the remedy for that is easily found. All that I’ve written against Western intellectual assumptions can be found in other works by better writers who knew more than me. I’m hardly the only Christian scholar who knows this stuff.

On top of that, there are a great many very intelligent minds who can see that doom from an entirely secular approach. All you have to remember is their secular motives that color how they address the topic. Most of them are trying to sell something, so it’s not a matter of prophets but profits.

There is no sin in trying to profit from America’s demise. However, keeping it clean before the Lord means keeping track of how He does things. If you obey Biblical Law, then part of the shalom He has promised includes a measure of prosperity. If you are living according to His calling on your life, then by all means, exploit this situation for His glory, for therein is much profit, both moral and material.

By no means should you resist what God is doing. Try to understand what’s happening and pray accordingly. God’s wrath is upon America and she will not return to her former power and glory. Never mind what Trump says about “make America great again” — it ain’t on God’s agenda. But there are some other things God has in mind for Trump to do as a vessel for wrath. At a minimum, his election has provoked the end game. I can’t suggest to you any kind of time table, but there is no turning back. Something in this conflict between his supporters and his foes will forever destroy the system.

If you understand Noah’s Covenant, then you probably understand that centralizing government control is inherently evil. Biblical Law rests on protocols and layers of dominion. The US as it currently exists even within her own borders qualifies as an empire. In the Bible, emperors are not permitted to make laws that dig too deeply into the daily life of subjects. We see from examples on the Old Testament that a good emperor can demand tribute and some amount of direct service, to include a military draft. If he has any sense, he stops at around ten percent. In return, the emperor must provide protection from both external and internal enemies. But he cannot set detailed policy for daily life. He deals only with the existing leadership of the people — ideally kings and tribal leaders.

Thus, policy is limited to keeping trade peaceful and fair between vassals. Translate that into our context today. There is justification for education policy at all, and no justification for any kind of inheritance tax or physical property tax. There is no justification for corporations as persons to limit individual liability. There can be no impersonal shareholders, no stocks and bonds. There can be no government bureaucracy making rules and regulations, only executing them. Everything must be personal; all property must be owned under the name of an individual. And we haven’t even mentioned the issue of respect for Creation. Those are just a few examples; do you begin to see how it deals with greed and lack of accountability?

So it stands to reason that our screwed up evil system is what will implode. That’s how God’s wrath works: Whatever characterizes an evil empire as peculiar sins is what will eat it alive, and it’s what God’s wrath will correct. Thus, we should expect that there will be a catastrophic decentralization of US political power. And because the US has done so very much evil to other countries, there will be further complications too numerous to mention here.

If you understand what draws God’s ire, you can estimate where His wrath falls. There are people and agendas that will fight tooth and nail to keep the evil centralizing going, trying to make it even worse. Those will suffer. So for example, Trump’s presidency will open the path for the destruction of both the globalists and imperialists. Within your calling and mission from God, if you see a chance to exploit and profit from that situation, jump right in. Otherwise, try not to stand too close to any of it when it implodes.

I reiterate my personal conviction that we need not fear an apocalypse. The national system can break down without destroying everything you know. It will be rough in some ways — it has to be. But there’s no reason to think life support will come to a screeching halt. Your local and state governments will vary widely in their response to the way stuff changes, so you’ll have to stay nimble. Make certain in your own heart that you are already where God wants you, then pray and keep your eyes open for what comes.

They Could, But Won’t

Judah didn’t have to face exile in Babylon. Even after all their many failures, slipping into idolatry, they could have settled into their punishment at God’s hand by serving Babylon quietly. Jeremiah said as much, but the Judean leadership kept trying to play politics with Egypt, playing her off against Babylon.

By the same token, I will tell you that the Democrats in the US can still recover and win the public over to their side. But it won’t happen, for much the same reason that Judah kept rebelling against Babylon: They refuse divine wisdom.

Listen to your heart for a moment. What happens to Christians who don’t pull their conscious awareness up into their heart-minds? This has no effect on their eternal destiny, but they will completely miss out on the heritage of faith in this life. You cannot truly walk with Christ without your heart in ascendancy in your soul. On the other hand, you can walk in your heart’s wisdom without Christ. The difference is that, in the latter case, you miss out on the direct revelation of the Holy Spirit. Thus, you can still discern what’s wise according to the moral fabric of the universe, but you won’t really know God and you won’t have that prophetic edge in your planning.

On the one hand, I’ve warned repeatedly that God is brought His wrath on the USA. I’ve gone to great lengths to explain why, but the point here is that a critical element in that path of wrath is that there will be a right-wing backlash. The right-wing instincts will serve as God’s tool, just as Babylon’s conquering lust was God’s tool against Judah. Except that America is not a covenant nation, so we don’t get any of the benefits of covenant protection. So there is a sense in which America as we know it will be destroyed, displaced by something else. It won’t matter whether Americans notice; it will be so. Wise hearts will see it clearly.

But the plan includes executing the wrath of God through the mass movement led by folks with a right-wing orientation. Let’s review just a moment what that means. The American right-wing is moved by “rule of law” or playing by the rules. It’s process-oriented. The left-wing is moved by fairness in terms of outcomes. In both cases the self-conscious orientation has been provoked to a fever pitch, so that most of the activists on both sides are more truculent and harsh than would normally be the case otherwise. People aren’t normally that stupid. So the mood of the nation in terms of the current drift of what shall dominate events is a vengeful rule-of-law.

By “rule of law” we are not referring to existing legal policy, but a broader myth of what law ought to be in a libertarian-leaning Enlightenment philosophy about liberty. Thus, the current majority-in-effect in America has been rubbed raw by legal policy that has turned a tiny minority into a privileged class. There’s nothing inherently unwise about identity politics, but there is something wrong with punishing today’s majority for the sins of their forefathers. It’s this passion for retribution that is entirely foolish. This is what has brought about the current political climate, in which the right-wing is utterly and spitefully deaf to anything the left has to say.

Had the leadership of the Democrats truly intended to rule, they would not have pandered to the whiny by creating a new predatory ruling class. The current established leadership at the DNC doesn’t give a damn about justice; they are race baiting, gender pampering, and looking for any excuse to stir up a false fury and vengeance. That’s where the plunder is. Had they attacked the real root of the problems they care about, their fortunes would have been much better at this point. The issue is winning the hearts and minds of folks without stirring up hatred. It requires backing off the absolutism of those seeking to plunder the existing social order, but suggesting policies that move the majority without implacable demands for specific outcomes.

But it takes a prophetic guidance in the heart to know that the Republicans don’t have to reform right now; they are in control because they have courted this core movement that has suffered too much at the hands of outcomes-based retribution. It wasn’t the wisdom of the Republican Party leadership, but the bulldozing of someone who refuses to play by their customary procedures. In other words, the Republicans harvest the benefit of something they really didn’t want. It remains to be seen where this unsettled context leads, but that is really not critical to what God is doing in His wrath. The bulldozer in the Oval Office is just a focal point of what God is doing, not the center of action. That action is in the field distributed across the country. The true threat to the left is the sheer power and dominance of the majority-in-effect that Democrats refuse to court.

So here is the prophetic point of this: Stop thinking and acting as if the Republicans and the President matter. They are symptoms of God’s wrath, not the substance of what He is doing. If you want to know what’s going on, get your news from the social media. Get a feel for where this mass of very unhappy rigth-wingers are going; their agenda is where God has ordained His wrath. It is not where He has set His blessings. This compares favorably with the situation in Jeremiah’s day. If you can embrace the prophetic warning, you are in a position to let your heart’s wisdom make the most of a bad situation. The right-wing movement is Babylon in ascendance. The left-wing is the slimy deception from Egypt. In due time both of them will be crushed by other forces.

It dosen’t matter if folks have leftist outcomes-based morals or right-wing process-based morals; they can’t keep listening to predatory leadership if they expect to harvest God’s promised blessings. The poltical wrangling matters not; we need a heart-led awareness to do anything that does matter.

Glory on the Far Horizon

In our study in Psalm 119, we’ve seen the psalmist use several terms to indicate the revelation of God. One of those words translates as “testimony” — a record of something that actually happened as reported by eye witnesses. If you seek with your heart to see the consistency in the Bible, you’ll find it. Your heart will affirm it for your brain; the brain’s job is working out how to live according to that conviction. A critical element in understanding the Scriptures is precedent: You need to see what God says about various events, to discern His judgment of things. What does this narrative indicate about how God works?

There’s Job. His time was well before Israel, and probably before Abraham. His testimony indicates something about how we know God regardless of the trappings of the Covenant of Moses. Before his calling, Abraham knew of Our Lord by a different name, and was called to leave behind the other deities he knew. That was a tall order, given that Abraham seems to have been a member of the priestly noble class of pagan scholars in the Mesopotamian Valley. It was a scholarship that is buried in myth and legend for us, but it’s clear that Jehovah by another name was never completely forgotten once we were expelled from Eden.

To support that theme is Balaam, the scholar hired from Babylon by Balak to curse Israel during her time passing through on the way to Canaan Land. Balaam knew how to address Jehovah and got very explicit answers of what God intended to do. He also knew enough to teach Balak how to get Israel in trouble with her God. So when Balaam couldn’t curse Israel directly, it was simple matter of incurring God’s wrath on Israel by way of suborning to sin. It worked quite well, we are told. It had to do with an ancient heathen rite that involved an annual offering, wherein the women all offered their bodies for ritual sex. And you thought modern politics was dirty.

Israel was led by Moses on that Exodus and we know that his father-in-law was a high priest who served the same God. Jethro served to restore to Moses a sense of awareness of the Semitic lore of faith and religion, something that seems to have grown dim in the minds of Israel after several generations in Egypt. They got into Egypt because God sent Joseph there to become a prominent figure in Pharaoh’s court. We know that required Joseph to engage in pagan rituals, and that Moses as an adopted son of Pharaoh’s daughter was schooled in the same Egyptian background. So Jethro helped to restore Moses to his nomadic Semite heritage, including that peculiar way of knowing God.

Far down the road, we see Daniel thrust into a much later Babylonian imperial court with an obligation to learn another big wad of pagan stuff, including much of what Abraham had known, and a lot more. Babylon was famous for preserving all the ancient literature it could find, and most of that was a matter of copying sacred texts from every temple library they encountered during their imperial expansion. Daniel remained in contact with the Hebrew leadership as they were sometimes under his authority as he served in the imperial bureaucracy. Among all the other stuff he revealed, his chief contribution to the Hebrew heritage was a prophecy of how God intended to do things on a broad scale, and what place Israel served in all of that. He also introduced a very firm concept of the Messiah.

Let’s not forget that God used Paul, steeped as that man was in the Hellenized perversions of Hebrew religion. If there was anyone prepared to help the churches discern the fatal flaw in Judaism, it was the man who had once stood in line to become a senior figure in the Sanhedrin. It was Paul who knew precisely how the Judaizers would work to subvert the churches, though he had plenty of help from the writer of Hebrews. While Paul insisted that Jews had a great advantage in their ancient Hebrew heritage, he also bluntly pointed out their national covenant was dead, thanks to their choice to jettison the core of that ancient heritage. The Jews no longer knew God; they rejected His Son. In effect, Judaism has become a pagan religion, and Paul was an expert on that.

I don’t amount to a callus on the foot of any of those men. The only way I can see anything at all is by standing on their shoulders. There is ample precedent from their lives to show that some of the things I write about do matter, despite the appearance of a secular interest. Take a moment consider: Is not our postmodern secular world just another brand of paganism? I’ve spent my adult life soaked in studying that secularism from different angles. By no means a real expert, I believe I know enough about it to be useful to God. In the midst of this, I have this burning desire to warn you of some dangers that apparently aren’t too obvious.

I don’t see too many other folks warning about the particular dangers I see. And maybe what I see doesn’t apply to you, but it certainly applies to me. It’s not possible to be silent (Ezekiel 33). Jesus in Matthew 24-25 warned His disciples to be aware of cues in the world around them so they’d know when it was God’s timing for them to scatter away from the incubator of faith in Jerusalem and take their message to a wider world. Paul was hardly the only missionary; there were churches planted all the way to modern India, places in Africa, across Central Asia, and into Europe. We really don’t even know all the places they went, but we do know that these former Jews-now-Christians went even farther with the faith itself, never mind starting actual churches.

It’s not for me to decide how this imagery applies to you, dear readers, but it should indicate something. At least for those of you living with me in the US, there’s a lot to watch for as God pulls this world into a new reality. This isn’t about fear any more than was Jesus trying to scare His disciples. It was all about having confidence in how God the Father does things in a world that chooses not to know Him. And just a little bit like Daniel, I have been granted some limited vision of God’s plans regarding that herding of cattle. It means passing through some troubling times, but His glory shines bright on the horizon.
